STAND UP FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION
Gov. Martinez has announced a new rule that will make 50% of teachers’ evaluation dependent on student test scores. All school employees—from teachers to educational assistants to custodians—and parents have been dealing with the stressful environment and workload testing creates. Under Governor Martinez’s plan, it will only get worse. Increased high-stakes testing will create a pressure cooker environment in our schools that will affect everyone.
