Schedule School Meetings to Mobilize Members on Our Legislative Agenda

The AFT New Mexico Executive Council approved our union's 2006 legislative agenda which includes lobbying for:
1) a career ladder for support personnel;
2) a career ladder for educational assistants;
3) salary improvements for experienced teachers and school related personnel (secretaries, clerks, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, maintenance/operations);
4) salary improvements for faculty and classified staff in higher education;
5) lowering the cost of health insurance;
6 maintaing a solvent retirement fund through a defined benefits plan.
